NOTE: If you want a bit more of a primer on meditative prayer in addition to the guided meditation itself, I do a few minutes of that in the audio-only version. You can listen to it with the audio player below, or find it in your regular podcast player as the latest episode of the Art of Catholic podcast.
You know, authentic meditation is something many Catholics don’t really understand or practice. And this is a problem that needs to be solved today…literally. Why?
Because as St. Teresa of Avila declares, “Meditation is the basis for acquiring all the virtues, and to undertake it is a matter of life and death for all Christians.”
Did you catch that? “…a matter of life and death”!

St. Francis de Sales agrees.
In fact, in his famous spiritual classic, Introduction to the Devout Life, he provides some beautiful and powerful meditations that are perfect for helping us engage in real conversation with God.
So I adapted these writings a bit and recorded them as audio meditations to help people experience authentic Catholic meditation and hopefully make it a part of their daily lives.
After all, there is no substitute for real prayer.
So if you’re looking for a bit of guidance in authentic prayer that will take you a bit deeper, below is a link to “Of Creation”, the first of these guided audio meditations. (You can find all of them in the Science of Sainthood.)
God bless you and never stop seeking the Lord!
