036: The Amazing Life and Power of Angels with Mike Aquilina

Why You Can't Live Without Them

catholic_FINAL_150“For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).

Since the last show was, shall we say, a bit dark, I decided we needed a burst of light. How much more light can you get than angels? And to shed light on an already bright and beautiful topic, I’ve got author, speaker, EWTN host, and all around terrific human being, Mike Aquilina.

Mike has written a ton about the angels. (Check out his beautiful devotional “A Year With the Angels” when you have a chance.)

Today’s show includes the following topics:220px-Fra_Angelico-Annunciatory_Angel-detail

  • Are all angels alike?
  • Do they have a primary role?
  • How are angels and humans different?
  • The greatest piece of advice ever with regard to guardian angels
  • How to establish a relationship with your guardian angel
  • Can fallen angels (i.e. demons) ever be saved?
  • Does our relationship with angels change in heaven?
  • What do the Church Fathers say about angels?

All that and more on this bright, beautiful and powerful episode of the The Art of Catholic!

Happy Easter!

Matthew

  1. I loved this talk on Angels! I cried and laughed out loud as I listened. My dog kept checking me out…she thought I was losing my mind! The two of you are fabulous! Thank you so very much for making a dreary rainy day a joyful experience! God bless you both.

  2. Wonderful! Thanks. Just as demons can ease into your mind, so took can angels. As I listen too this I was having a revengeful thought and just being accepted into the Church, I have been trying too be keenly aware of my thoughts and try too vanish them. Of course we can do nothing on our own. Now a small vision occur where an angel stood behind me and lifted a staff and touch me on the head and the torment of these thoughts disappear. Really enjoy these talks you produce, apparently so does heaven. Keep in Christ always.

  3. Just an inquiry please….
I’ve just found this site today, after viewing the last video lesson about our Blessed Mother and tried to search who is this Matthew Leonard…..
I am interested to learn about these topics in “podcast” but i really don’t have that “opportunity” to listen to it….my inquiry then is: is it possible to have it in written form?
God reward you for your beautiful apostolate…..

    • Hi Sister! So glad you found me! (Hope you like what you find:). With regard to transcription, oftentimes I transcribe the episodes where its just me, but I don’t do it when I’m interviewing someone else. It’s a lot of work and I just don’t have the time. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. Perhaps if you said some prayers and asked the Lord to provide someone to transcribe the episodes it could happen:). Regardless, if you would please keep me in your prayers, I would greatly, greatly, greatly appreciate it! God bless you and thank you for your dedication to our Lord through religious life.

      • Thank you so much Matt for the reply. YES! I do love what I found! 🙂
It is okay….Our Lord will provide if He thinks it is necessary for me…meanwhile I will try to use the means available for now…it is just a pity that i will not be able to listen to all of them…I do find all the topics listed very interesting…Yes I do pray for all of you since the day that i discovered EWTN.. i am so much edified by people like you and how you are fired with God’s Spirit in your apostolate… by the way, I am one of the daughters of St. Teresa of Avila….
